Rocks

Rocks are the key priorities you commit to every 90 days to stay aligned and focused on what matters most.

You can add a rock directly from your Dashboard by clicking the + button in the My rocks section or by the "+ Add" button at the top right of your screen and choosing Rock from the dropdown.

You can also go to the Rocks option in the sidebar and click the Add rock button at the top right. If you are adding your first rock you will also see a prompt in the centre of the screen with an Add rock button.

You will then see a popup where you can complete the rock title, description, add a due date, select whether it is a company rock or individual rock, select a team, the owner of the rock, set the status (off-track, on-track, complete) and add an attachment.

To add rocks for multiple teams, just select the Teams dropdown and turn on the "Choose multiple" button at the bottom of the dropdown.

Turn on the "Create more" button if you wish to create multiple rocks and it'll keep the pop up window open after saving rocks.

Once you have added some rocks you will see that they are split into all company rocks at the top and then rocks by owner below

Filtering

You can filter rocks by team by selecting all teams or the team you wish to see the rocks for from the dropdown filter.

If you wish to view multiple team rocks, you can turn on the "Choose multiple" button at the bottom of the dropdown.

You can also use the Filter icon next to the Team name, there's 3 ways for you to use this Filter:

  • Status

  • Owner

  • Type

To Filter by Status, you can choose Status from the drop down menu and then select the status of rocks you wish to see (on-track, off-track, not done or completed).

Turn on "Choose multiple" button at the bottom of the dropdown if you want to view multiple rock status.

You can also filter by owner by selecting Owner from the drop down menu and then selecting the person you wish to see all the rocks for.

To view multiple users, you can turn on "Choose multiple" from the bottom of the user dropdown.

Filtering by Type will allow you to view Company rocks or Individual rocks.

You can also search for a rock by clicking the magnifying glass icon and typing in your search terms.

You can choose to display inactive rocks by clicking the display button and hovering over the “Done & not done rocks” dropdown menu. From there, you can select to hide or show.

Decide the order of the rocks by selecting Display order and choosing order by Title, People, Date created or Due date.

To add a milestone to a rock click the rock or click the three dots and select the Edit option.

The Calendar icon will allow you to choose what quarter rocks you want to view or if you want to Show all of them. If you want to change your quarter dates, select "Manage quarter dates" at the bottom of the calendar dropdown.

This will take you into the rocks information. Where you will see the option to add a milestone with the Add milestone or + buttons.

Once you click the Add milestone or + button a new milestone will appear and will show the status (to-do or complete), the owner, title and due date. The due date will only allow you to select a date up to the due date set for the rocks completion.

You can add as many milestones as you want to between the current date and the due date of the rock and allocate different people to each milestone if required.

The milestones display as a dot for each milestone on the rock. The dot turns green once the milestone has been completed and shows the percentage of milestones complete. If the due date has passed and the milestone still has a status of to-do the dot will turn red.

You can print a copy of your rocks by clicking the printer icon at the top right of the screen. The print our will contain the current data in your rocks based on your filters.

After selecting your preferred print type, you will be given an option if you'd like your copy to include milestones or not.

You will then be able to select to print your rock data portrait or landscape.

To add an issue from a rock, click the three dots on that rock and select the Raise issue option.

You will then see a popup that automatically has the title of "Rock {title of rock} is off-track", this can be updated. There is also an optional description to add more information and you can select if this is a short term or long term issue.

The team and owner of the issue will populate with the person creating the issue on the right hand side, these can be updated to another team or owner if required. You can also allocate the to do a priority level from the dropdown or add an attachment.

Once you click the Add issue button the issue will be added to the short-term or long-term issues list for the team and owner.

To create a to do for a rock, click the three dots for that rock and select the Create to-do option.

You will then see a popup that automatically has the title of "Rock {title of rock} is off-track", this can be updated. There is also an optional description to add more information for the to-do and you can select if this is team or private to-do.

The to-do automatically gets allocated the status of To-do from the dropdown. You can allocate the to-do a due date, this automatically populates to 7 days from the current date. The team and owner of the to do will populate with the person creating the to-do on the right hand side, these can be updated to another team or owner if required. You can also allocate the to-do a priority level from the dropdown.

Once you click the Add to-do button the to-do will be added to the to-do list for the team and owner or just the owner if it's a private to-do.
